Progressive Lessons presents the source material for the three tunes “traditionally taught young harpers”. These tunes were collected by Edward Bunting from the last of the old Irish harpers in the 1790s, and written into his manuscript notebooks.
Thie book includes actual-size colour facsimiles of the key source manuscripts, with detailed commentary on them. As well as the three tunes, there is information about the old harpers and their harps.
