Reviews, press comment and opinion:

A fascinating historical journey... an excellent starting point for those interested in the historical music of Scotland.

As entertainment it's pretty heavy at times, but as a store of new and inspiring sounds it comes close to the seminal recordings by Ann Heymann. Well worth a listen.

The sound of these partially golden-strung harps... is truly extraordinary...
I would recommend these CDs to anyone who has not heard the sound of Gaelic harps: they are highly captivating.

There's a richness and complexity to the music ... Simon's work is fey and ephemeral, and very lovely.

Sicherlich ein gewöhnungsbedürftiger Klang, weit entfernt von der Sicherheit und Gemütlichkeit des bürgerlichen Salons. Rau und wild wie die Highlands, wo das Instrument einmal hergekommen ist.

The metal strings give a very different sound from the gut-strung harp on these often stately pieces.

The description of the instrument sounds amazing ... There's great sleeve notes packed with fascinating information
