Old Gaelic Laments

In the Old Gaelic World, death was always near at hand. Feared, celebrated or regretted, it was the central point of the complex and beautiful art music composed by professional and skilled musicians.

This CD presents a selection of music and poetry from 16th and 17th century Scotland and Ireland, much of it directly drawn from the clarsach or Gaelic harp tradition.
